“It was regrettable. That was essentially an interaction with Cowboys supporters out in front of us,” Jones stated during a Tuesday interview. “There was a swarm of Cowboys fans—not New York fans, Cowboys fans. The whole venue was brimming with excitement for the Dallas team.”
He further emphasized that the gesture was entirely unintentional, occurring amid the excitement following the team’s final touchdown. “I just put up the incorrect digit,” he noted. “It was inadvertently performed. This is sincere. Should you call it unplanned, you can. But it got corrected rapidly.”
